Eddie T. Matsu earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada before graduating from the University of Manitoba School Of Medicine in Winnipeg, Canada. He completed an internship at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Dr. Matsu also entered into a general surgery residency at UCLA-Kern County General Hospital Bakersfield, Calif., a cardiovascular surgery visiting residency at the Baylor College of Medicine - The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and an orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

Dr. Matsu has hospital affiliations with Methodist Hospital, Memorial Hermann/ Memorial City Hospital, Methodist Hospital Sugar Land, Texas Orthopedic Hospital, West Houston Outpatient Surgical Center, West Houston Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital Foundation Surgical Hospital and Doctors' Surgical Center.

Currently, he serves as the Medical Director/Team Physician for the Houston Aeros Professional Hockey Club. He has served as an NFL disability examiner for Bert Bell Foundation and the NFL Players Association. In addition, Dr. Matsu was a ten year member for the Texas Medical Association Committee for Sports Medicine and past president of The Houston Orthopedic Society.
