Rex Marco received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine before earning his medical degree from UCLA
School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. He received post graduate training at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-National Institutes of Health in
Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Marco performed his internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington and an Orthopaedic Surgical Residency at UC
Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He completed a Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York
City, New York and a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Marco is certified by the American
Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is licensed in the states of Texas, Illinois, New York, California and Washington.
He serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery with the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, as a Clinical
Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for Rice University Department of Bioengineering, and is part of the
Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Lecture series. Dr. Marco also serves as a Team Physician for the Houston Rockets.
Dr. Marco’s hospital affiliations are with Memorial Hermann Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital,
Texas Orthopaedic Hospital and Foundation Surgical Hospital.
His professional memberships include Orthopaedic Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society, North American Spine Society, Harris County
Medical Society, Texas Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.
